Obituary

Helen Huzina Becker, a Uniontown resident and former resident of Charleroi and Johnstown, PA, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Helen was born March 12, 1929 in Johnstown, Pa. youngest child of Stephen and Rose (Baraté') Huzina. In 1949 Helen married Henry Winfred Becker and raised four sons.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, sister Margaret Huzina Dadey, nephew Stephen Dadey, infant grandson Daniel, infant granddaughter Lydia, and husband Henry.

Helen is survived by brother Stephen Huzina of Michigan, her sons Darrell Becker and wife Christina of East Millsboro, Scott Becker and wife Cheryl of Johnstown, PA, Randy Becker and wife Sue of Indianapolis, IN, and Tracey Becker and wife Laura of Uniontown, PA; grandchildren Daniele Becker Stoehr and husband David of Wickliffe, Ohio, Dwayne Becker and wife Melissa (Vallimont) of East Stroudsburg, PA, Angela Becker, Andrew Becker, Joshua Becker and wife Julie, Jeffrey Becker and family, Zachery Becker, Mallory Becker Dugan and husband Heath of Greeley, NB, Cheyenne Rose Becker, Trisha Becker Webster and family, and Tyler Becker; and great grandchildren Gabriel Stoehr, Annabella Stoehr, Brianna Ray, Ava Ray, Savanna Becker, and McCoy Dugan.

As a young woman, Helen owned and managed her own beautician shop in Johnstown. After raising her sons, she completed a degree in Early Childhood Development and served as a supervisor for the Intermediate Unit until retirement. In retirement, she and her husband took on a new venture as owners of Becker's Shadyside Restaurant in Uniontown for the next two decades. Helen always said her biggest accomplishments and greatest joys were her children.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave Ext., Uniontown, Pa., Thursday, April 5, from 6-8 p.m.; Friday, April 6, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; and Saturday, April 7, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the Hour of Service, with Pastor Jim Gear Officiating. Interment will follow at Mount St. Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
