Grace DePasquale, 90, of Milan, OH passed away on May 18, 2025 at the Kingston of Vermilion Memory Care Facilityin Vermilion, OH.
She was born on September 12,1934 in Point Marion, PA to Francis 'Mike' and Nellie Devona (Minor)Herrington.
She married John D. DePasquale in August of 1957 and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2010.
Grace graduated from Point Marion High School and first worked for the power company before earning her BS inEducation from California University of PA followed by a Masters' Degree from West Virginia University. She went onto teach third grade at Hatfield Elementary School in Uniontown, PA for 30 years until her retirement in 1997.
A dedicated and religious woman, Grace devoted her life to her faith, family, friends, and the pursuit of knowledge.Born Grace Herrington, she was a faithful member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Uniontown, PA, for many years and most recently a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Milan, OH. Grace was a thoughtful individual who spent countless hours in prayer for those in need, reflecting her deep and unwavering Catholic faith. Philippians 2:4 perfectly encapsulates Grace's life: "Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."
Grace spent her professional life as a teacher, sharing knowledge and wisdom with countless students throughout her career. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing bridge with her fellow teachers and friends, strolling around her neighborhood, camping in Canada and Myrtle Beach, quilting, and baking Christmas cookies. When she wasn't teaching or engaging in her hobbies, her greatest joy was spending time with her three grandchildren, especially during their toddler years. She spent the past 10 years living with her daughter and family in Milan, OH who enriched her life with companionship and loving care.
Grace is survived by her children, David DePasquale and his wife Rhonda of Carolina Beach, NC and Jane Stott and her husband Dan of Milan, OH; her grandchildren, AnnMarie DePasquale of Wilmington, NC, Daniel and Nathaniel Stott of Milan, OH; and her brother Donald Herrington and his wife Karen of Cincinnati, OH.
She was preceded indeath by her parents, Francis and Devonna Herrington; her loving husband, John D. DePasquale; and her sisters,Elaine McAllister and Beverly Demaske.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N.Gallatin Ave Ext, Uniontown, PA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 10:00am at St. ThereseCatholic Church, 61 Mill Street, Uniontown, PA.
Interment is in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 145 S. Center St., Milan, OH44846.
