Gloria R. "Sugar" (Lancaster) Stewart, 85 of Smock, PA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 28, 2012. She passed away in Uniontown.

She was born on August 22, 1927 in Edenborn, PA, daughter of Owen and Laura (Altmeyer) Lancaster, who preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Alvin Reason Stewart; children, Starlett Dawn Stewart and Alvin Douglas Stewart; two grandsons, Alvin Owen Stewart and Robert D. Holbert; a brother, Douglas Lancaster; and a sister, Grace Shultz.

Gloria was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a Nurses Aide for many years at the former Fayette County Home, and Golden Age Nursing Home in Brownsville. For many years she waitressed at Walt's Tavern with the former owner Mary Guziak.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Loreli Roll and husband John, Jr. of Uniontown, PA; Linda Darlene Schrecongost and husband Edward of Edenborn, PA; Gloria Grace Stewart of Uniontown, PA; Roberta Jean Roberts of Uniontown, PA; Loreen G. Mego and husband James of Smock, PA; Mary Doyle and husband Ralph of Uniontown, Pa; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren, and great -great grandchildren; her brothers, Robert "Joe" Lancaster and wife Edith of Grays Landing, PA; and Andrew "Andy" Lancaster of Edenborn; and many nieces and nephews and their families. Gloria also leaves behind many special friends and caregivers.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA on Thursday, August 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.; and on Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the Hour of Service with Rev. Paul Lesher Officiating.

Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
