George E. Kornick, 71, of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2016. He was born April 28, 1945, in Elm Grove, Pa., son of the late Nicholas Kornick, former member of the House of Representatives, and County Treasurer, and Margaret (Duke) Kornick.

George was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, in Uniontown. He graduated from Uniontown Area High School, Class of 1965, and was an avid Pittsburgh and Cleveland sports fan.

Left to cherish his memory, are his brother, Nicholas J. Kornick and his wife Linda, of Penn Hills, PA; his aunt, Audry Duke; nephews, Nicholas R. Kornick, of Alexandria, VA, and Daniel A. Kornick and his wife Mary, of Mendham, NJ; great nieces, Caitlin, Kellianne, Julia, Emily; great nephew, Matthew; and many more cousins.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc. 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Ext., Uniontown, PA, 15401, on Friday, July 29, from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 30, until 10:30 a.m. when the Panachida will be held.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 185 E. Main Street, Uniontown, PA, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Father Ronald P. Larko as Celebrant.

Interment will be held at Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown.

The Parastas Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday, at 7:30 p.m.
