Obituary

George Angelo DiLeo, 72, of Bridgeville, PA passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. George was born Sunday, January 27, 1952, in Uniontown, PA a son of the late George and Enes (DePaolis) DiLeo. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by two daughters, Maria Euphemia DiLeo and Christa Louise DiLeo.

George was a graduate of Uniontown Area High School, an Undergraduate of California University of Pennsylvania, and was a very proud graduate of University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, where he would go on to work in the Vaccine Lab. He worked as a pharmacist throughout his life and George was the past owner of the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Uniontown and Brownsville. George was a very active member in his community and belonged to many different Civic Organizations. He was the originator of the very first Italian Festival in Uniontown and was very active in the Arc organization. In honor of his late daughter Christa, George would create a snack shop, and hold several dinners and fundraisers to raise money for the Arc Organization. His community involvement was ultimately culminated with George receiving the Herman M. Buck Award and the Key to City of Uniontown. George was a kind hearted man who was truly selfless. He was a loving and devoted husband and father who will be sadly missed.

Left to cherish his memory, are his loving wife of 43 ½ beautiful years, Anita DiLeo; his children, who emulate their father every day, Michael Francesco DiLeo, Angelina Marie DiLeo and her husband, Greg Taylor, and Adriana Elizabeth DiLeo; his grandson, Greg Jr; his brother, Dr. Dominic DiLeo; and his "Furry" little sidekick, Franco.

Family and friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, 15401, on Sunday, March 24, from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. And Monday, March 25, until 11:00 a.m., The Hour of Service.

The Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 25, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Don O'Hare Officiating.

Mausoleum Entombment will be held privately at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Chapel of Memories Mausoleum.

In Lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the DiLeo family.
