Gene L. Avera, age 85, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Monday February 9, 2015 in Land O'Lakes, Florida.

He was born on November 18, 1929 in Uniontown, Pa., a son of Lester and Marguerita (Densmore) Avera.

Gene was a member of the Lemont Sportsman Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Michael Avera.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Susan Bogden and her husband David, grandchildren, David Bogden and his wife Katie, Eric Bogden, great grandchildren Owen Bogden, Luke Bogden, sisters, Patsy Hawkins, Marita Avera, Gene was also survived by his Dear friend Eleanor Huntley and her family.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa., on Friday February 13, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday February 14, 2015 until 11 a.m. the hour of service with Rev. Terence Teluch officiating.

Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Post 8543.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA
