Frank J. Stramat, 86, of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at home.
He was born on February 19, 1928 in Oliver, PA, son of the late Mele and Julia (Sopola) Stramat.
He was the last member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou (Mays) Stramat: son, Thomas J. Stramat; son-in-law, Ronald Pisano; great-granddaughter, Harley Jean Kessler; brother, John Stramat and his wife Susan; an infant sister at birth; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Ada Mays; brothers-in-law, Alfred Mays, Richard Mays and Melvin Hawk; niece, Lorrie Mays; and nephew, Joseph Stramat.
Frank was a member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church. He served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a bricklayer by trade and a master of his craft, retiring after a long successful career in construction.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Charles L. Stramat and wife Bonnie, Margaret Ann Pisano, and James F. Stramat and wife Stefanie; grandchildren, Tiffanie Kessler and husband Paul, Reba Lynn Stramat, Zachary Stramat and Amber Pisano; step-granddaughter, Lori Shawl and husband Steve; brother-in-law, Paul Mays and wife Patricia; sisters-in-law, Linda Hawk and Shirley Mays; several nieces and nephews and their families; and many friends.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, PA, on Thursday, March 20th from 7-9 p.m.; Friday, March 21st from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.; and Saturday, March 21, 2014 until 11:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 Noon in Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as Celebrant.
Interment will be held in Saint Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown, PA, where Military Honors will be accorded by AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, PA.
Parish Wake Service will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
