Obituary

Frank J. Harenza, 88 of Oliver, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born February 12, 1922 in Uniontown, PA the son of the late Joseph and Victoria Harenza. Frank was a life long member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church of Uniontown, PA. He served admirably in the Coast Guard during World War II. Frank was a coal miner by trade and enjoyed retirement for 26 years. He lived a simple unassuming, quiet life and enjoyed simple everyday pleasures. He was passionate about his newspapers, radio, sports, politics, gambling at Wheeling and the blessings of his family. Frank enjoyed family gatherings and card parties.

He is survived by his wife Sophia; three children, Jerome and wife Verna of Palm Harbor, FL, Sandi J. and husband William Long of Uniontown, PA and Marice and husband Scot Brooks of Uniontown, PA; his loving grandchildren Jeremy and wife Kim of Tampa, FL and Ian and Bekah Brooks of Uniontown, PA.

Frank is also survived by three sisters, Millie Saytos, Helen Szmyd and husband Lou, and Virginia Bieniek; and several nieces all of Uniontown, PA.

A special thanks to Albert Gallatin Hospice who took him to his eternal home with grace and dignity.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa., on Friday, November 26, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated, on Saturday November 27, at 8:30 AM in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Father Ronald Simboli., Everyone please meet at the church.

Interment will be held in Sylvan Heights Uniontown, PA, where military honors will be accorded by the AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood.
