Frank J. DeConcilis, age 95, of Uniontown, Pa, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2014.
He was born on July 12, 1919, a son of Luigi and Marie (Cuda) DeConcilis.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Rose (DeConcilis) Barnes and her husband G.W., and his beloved wife of 55 years, Emily (Pace) DeConcilis.
Left to cherish his memory is his son Dr. Dale L. DeConcilis and wife Joyce, very best friends and granddaughters, Julie and Chelsea DeConcilis, brother Dr. Anthony V. DeConcilis, niece Theresa (DeConcilis) Chandler and husband Bill, and nephew Martin DeConcilis and wife Kathy.
Frank was a World War II Veteran, and proudly served in the Marine Corps as a Tech Sergeant from March 17, 1942 to March 21, 1946. During his service he toured the South Pacific Islands.
After his discharge from the Marine Corps, Frank worked for 35 years as a Cement Mason for the former Uniontown Construction Company. Many of the buildings and sidewalks that he built are still being utilized today. He was recently awarded 60 years of membership in the Cement Mason local 526.
After retirement, Frank spent most of his time golfing, hunting, and being outdoors. As most Italians, he found his true enjoyment from a big plate of pasta, a glass of red wine, and being surrounded by his family.
Arrangements are private and under the direction of the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Ext., Uniontown, Pa.
Interment was held in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
