Frances M. (Plachko) Tajc, 93, of West Penn Blvd., Uniontown, PA, died on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Peroni Personal Care Home, Uniontown. She was born on December 29, 1918 in Uniontown, a daughter of Andrew and Sophia (Yanecko) Plachko.
Frances was the last surviving member of her immediate family, preceded in death by her parents; husband, John W. Tajc; infant Mary Tajc five sisters, Margaret Hradesky, Mary Hudock, Vernie Mateosky, Elizabeth Painley, Cecelia Wrable and two brothers, Anthony Plachko and George Plachko.
Frances was a loving wife and mother, with a very kind and generous spirit. She was a devoted lifetime member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, charter member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and member of the former Rosary Society. For 15 years Frances was employed at the Uniontown Hospital as a Nursing Assistant, and also served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
The family would like to express special thanks and appreciation to her caregiver Colleen Mateosky and the staffs of Peroni Personal Care Home, and Amedisys Home Health Care & Hospice.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Monica Vent and husband Karl of Pittsburgh, PA; Raymond Tajc and the love of his life Kathleen of Pittsburgh, PA; Lawrence Tajc and wife Mary of Hopwood, PA; Therese Tajc of Uniontown, PA; Ronald Tajc and wife Carol of Uniontown, PA; and Richard Tajc and wife Debra of Uniontown, PA; cherished grandchildren, Kristine Leonard and husband Troy, Derek Vent and wife Michelle, Richard Tajc and girlfriend Bethany, Brian Tajc and wife Rachel, Michael Tajc and wife Shannon, Jessica Erb and husband Richard, Jonathan Tajc, and Mary Beth Tajc; nine beloved great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, today (Sunday) from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m.; and on Monday, November 12 until 10: 30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Stephen R. Bugay as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at St. Mary (Nativity Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to St. Mary (Nativity) R. C. Church.
The Parish Wake Service will be held on Sunday at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Confraternity of Christian Mothers Prayer Service.
