Frances (Marvin) Abel, 79, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 21, 2016, surrounded by her loving family and dear friends.

She was born in Leith, PA, on October 16, 1936, daughter of the late Charles and Louise (Rukse) Marvin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband David Patterson Abel on February 9, 2016, and a brother-in-law, Walter "Junior" Rowland.

Frances has owned and operated Spaw's Tavern for the past 38 years. She was hard working and dedicated to her business, with an unforgettable sense of humor. She graduated from South Union High School.

Frances is survived by her sister, Barb Rowland of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers, Chuck Marvin of Birdsboro, PA, and Rick Marvin of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; many dear nieces and nephews and their families, and beloved friends and caregivers.

In accordance with her wishes, private entombment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery Chapel of Peace Mausoleum. Services are under the direction of the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., Uniontown, PA.
