Florence A. (Ochtun) Matwij, 87, of Vanderbilt, Pa., died peacefully at home on November 11, 2018. She was born on December 21, 1930 in Homestead, Pa., daughter of the late Michael and Ann (Adams) Ochtun).

In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband Edward E. "Luke" Matwij, and daughter-in-law, Shirley Ann Matwij. Florence had been a member of St. Michael Russian Orthodox Church in McKeesport.

She is remembered by her family as a good and honest woman; very hard working, quick- witted, and very direct… she always said what she meant.

She leaves behind her loving son, Edward Michael Matwij, and grandson, Edward Michael Matwij, Jr., with whom she made her home.

In accordance with her wishes, funeral services were private.
