Eugene ("Gene," "Genie Boy," "The Mad Frenchman") Joseph Moreau, Jr., 65, of Chalk Hill, PA, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 6, 2018, surrounded by his loving children. Gene was born September 10, 1952, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, of the late Eugene Joseph Moreau, Sr. and Dorine Vondale (Stevens) Moreau.
Gene owned and operated Moreau Construction since 1976. He was known to family and friends as a fun-loving guy, an animated storyteller, and as the host of a weekly shuffleboard "puck night" at his home. He will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish his stories and memory are his children, Claudine Moreau, of Chapel Hill, NC, Bjorn Moreau of Columbia, MD, Candice Moreau of Uniontown, PA, Raina Moreau-Sapp and her husband Thomas, of Kapolei, HI, and Eugene "Geno" Moreau, III of Kapolei, HI; his 2 grandchildren, Isabelle English of Chapel Hill, NC, and Liam Moreau of Columbia, MD; brothers and sisters, Steven Moreau and his wife Mary Anne of Chantilly, VA, Philip Moreau and his wife LeeAnn of Oakland, MD, Pierre Moreau and his wife Carol of Mars, PA, Aimee Kadri and her husband Madjid of Pittsburgh, PA, Jennifer Moreau-Show and her husband Ken of Uniontown, PA, Daniel Moreau and his fiance Hope Orndorff of Oakland, MD, and Victor Moreau and his partner Kathrin Bach of Oakland, MD; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
A memorial service will be held at Union Chapel Church of the Brethren located on Flatrock Road, Markleysburg, PA on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 2 pm. The family asks for no flowers, but for donations for Union Chapel Church in Gene's name.
