Eric R. Sherwood's Obituary
Eric R. Sherwood, age 46, of Smithfield, PA, died on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born on December 16, 1965 in Uniontown, PA, beloved son of Bernice (Gratson) Tracy of Greensburg, PA, and the late Isaac Sherwood.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Therese "Terri" M. Sherwood, their children, Kasey Sherwood of Markleysburg, PA; Megan E. Sherwood, and Zachary E. Sherwood both at home; two brothers, Wayne Youger and wife Sally, and Scott Sherwood; and many other dear family members and friends.
Eric was employed with the United States Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons for 18 years. He was a graduate of Paul B. Blazer High School, Ashland, KY, Class of 1983, and served his country with the United States Air Force at the rank of Sergeant.
He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends, and remembered as a man of love, pride, and immense happiness.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Tuesday, January 3, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; and on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 until 11 a.m., when a Blessing Service will be held, with Rev. Father Stephen R. Bugay Officiating.
Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 51.
