Emil A. Kollar, age 93, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Sunday January 11, 2015
He was a Veteran of World War II, recipient of the Purple Heart, a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church where he served as an usher for 40 years. Prior to his retirement, he was previously co-owner of Young's Bakery in Uniontown, Pa., with his brothers.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Evelyn June (Kingan) Kollar, his son David E. Kollar, brothers Michael Kollar, Edward Kollar, Francis Kollar, Andrew Kollar and his sisters Bridgette Brownfield and Elizabeth Yoder.
Left to cherish his memory are his son Robert "Bob" Kollar and his wife Kellie, sisters; Emily Grove, Pauline Wilkinson and a brother William Kollar and his wife Kathryn.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa., on Wednesday January 14, 2015 from 2-4 & 6:30 - 9 p.m. and on Thursday January 15, 2015 until 9:15 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.
A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, in Uniontown, PA at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Fr. Ronald Simboli as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Smithfield, PA where military honors will be accorded by the AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood.
Memorial donations can be made to Duquesne University School of Business Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship Fund in memory of Emil A. Kollar.
