Elva Noskey (Noschese) Pacione Grubbs, age 89, of Royal, PA, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 16, 2011, at Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, PA.
She was born on August 22, 1922, in Alicia, PA, daughter of the late Joseph and Domenica (Wells) Noskey Noschese. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Raymond Pacione; second husband Floyd Grubbs; and brothers and sisters, Frances Valente, Joseph Nosky, Nick (Noskey) Noschese, Mary Flora, Albert Noschese, infant brother Richard, and infant sister Alcie.
Elva was a member of St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, Smock, PA, and a former member of the St. Hedwig Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was a wonderful cook and baker, who loved spending time with her family; especially at the Sunday dinner table, where she prepared a feast including her unforgettable homemade spaghetti.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carl Pacione and wife Mary Ann of Greensburg, PA; Nancy Cetera and husband Frank of Royal, PA; grandchildren, Carla Basinger and husband Frank, Carl Pacione and wife Angela, Frank Cetera, Michael Cetera and wife Bobbie Jo, Sandra Matt and husband Nick, and Michele Pellis; great-grandchildren, Anna Marie Pacione, Madison Basinger, Cienna and Cooper Cetera, Zachary and Justin Pellis, and Marie and Nico Matt; brothers and sisters, Geno Noschese and wife Evelyn of Allison, PA; Fanny Nicola of Brownsville, PA; Pauline Yurek and husband Mike of Jefferson, PA; and Margie Semonick and husband Joe "Smokey" of Troy, MI; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, today, Sunday, September 18 from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m; and on Monday, September 19, until 9:30 a.m., when prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. in St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, Smock, PA, with Rev. Father James F. Petrovsky as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
