Elizabeth M. (Pergalske) Selep, 89, formerly of Uniontown, passed away peacefully after a long illness, on Saturday, September 15, 2018, in Washington, Pa, where she moved to be closer to her family. Elizabeth was born on Monday, March 4, 1929, in Uniontown, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Rebar) Pergalske.
In addition to her parents, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 55 years, William E. Selep, on December 29, 2010.
Elizabeth was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, in Uniontown. She graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. Elizabeth worked as a Registered Nurse for 35 years until 1989, when she retired from the Uniontown Hospital, as the Clinical Nursing Supervisor of the Medical/Surgical Unit. Elizabeth was a proud mother, loving grandmother, and great grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memory, are her children, Mary Beth Baker and her husband David, of Washington, PA; and Joseph W. Selep and his wife, Joni, of Upper St. Clair, PA; her grandchildren, Jill Kottner and her husband William, of Canonsburg, PA, Joshua Baker and his wife Caitlin, of Peters Twp, Justin, Joseph, and Jordan Elizabeth Selep, all of Upper St. Clair, PA; and her great grandchildren, Will, Rylie, and Piper Elizabeth Kottner, and Jack and Julia Baker.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Tuesday, September 18, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, September 19, until 11 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Rd., Uniontown, PA.
Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hopwood, PA.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Uniontown Hospital Legacy Walkway.
