Elizabeth (Betty) Nanette Duff Olson

September 25, 1933 – February 13, 2025

Betty Olson of Tucson, AZ (formerly of Oneida, IL) passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025.

Betty was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 25, 1933 to the late Alexander McGill and Ida Mae Frank Duff. She was raised in a Navy family and spent most of her younger years living along the east coast accompanying her family during multiple military moves. She later moved to Illinois where she met and married Maxwell T Olson in Galesburg Illinois, he preceded her in death.

Betty and Max raised four children in Oneida, IL:  Barth (Anne), Douglas (Stephanie), Gordon, and Beth (Stuart). They were her pride and joy as were their friends whom she loved to welcome into her home. Betty was a teacher in the R.O.V.A. School District and an avid sports fan.  She was a member of Grace Anglican Church in Galesburg.

Betty is survived by her children, seven grandchildren whom she adored, Stuart (Dara), Angela, Amanda, Gavin, Max, Erik, and Andrew, along with special friends including the Jim & Wanda Asplund family of Oneida, IL., David and Kay Gray of Tucson, AZ., and Randy and Angela Frazee of Tucson, AZ.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Sunset Hospice, Catalina Connections, and the caregivers at Hacienda at the Canyons in Tucson, AZ.

A private commitment ceremony will be held on March 4th, 2025 in Uniontown, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401.

Interment is in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
