Elizabeth "Betty" Frances (Shuster) Maddas, of Uniontown, PA., passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Uniontown Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lemont Furnace, PA on November 13, 1925, daughter of the late Paul J. Shuster and Mary (Magda) Shuster.

Betty was a homemaker throughout her life and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. She was a former member of St. Cecelia's Christian Mothers and a former member of the North Union Township Ladies Auxiliary Volunteer Fire Department. Betty enjoyed activities at the Heritage, where she resided, especially building puzzles with her friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, James A. Maddas.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carol Kassimer and husband James of North Huntingdon, PA., Michele Bozek and husband Fred, of Uniontown, PA., and James A. Maddas Jr. and special friend Linda Voight, of St. Paul, MN.; grandchildren, Gregory Kassimer and fianc Sarah Vincent, Derek Kassimer and wife Sarah, Alisha Bozek and fianc Brian Varner, and Farran Bozek; sisters, Magdalene Stepanik, Genevieve Gogola, and Dolores Sethman; aunts, Velma Lamance and Frances Cornish; many special friends from the Heritage; and extended family and friends.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Monday February 27, 2012 from 7-9PM, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-9PM and Wednesday, February 29 until 9:15 when prayers of transfer will be said.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, PA. with Rev. Fr. Ronald Simboli as Celebrant.

Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
