Elizabeth Betty Jean (Angelo) Finnecy, 89 of Stamford, Connecticut, formerly of Uniontown, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020. She was born February 12, 1930 in Uniontown, daughter of the late Paul and Eva (Piccolomini) Angelo.
She was the loving mother of Betsy (Steven) Cowell of Boston, MA, Mary Beth (Fred) Marxer of Dallas, TX, Robert (Cindy) Finnecy of Wilton, CT, and John (Christie) Finnecy of London, UK; beloved grandmother of Megan (Patrick) Bohannan, Caitlyn and Kirsten Finnecy, Becky (Matt) Ericson; beloved great grandmother to Henry and Jack Ericson: a wonderful sister to Joanne Wilson, Linda Yezerio, Regina Pedro, and the late Paul Angelo Jr., Sam Angelo, and Mary Catherine Capriotti.
Betty graduated from Uniontown High School in 1947 and Villa Maria College in 1951. She was a dedicated teacher at numerous schools. She continued her career as an office manager for the Stamford Catholic regional school district and was a parishioner at St. Leo RC Church in Stamford, CT.
Visitation will be held at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Saturday when Prayers of Transfer will be said at 9:15 AM followed by a the Funeral Mass at St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
The Parish Wake service will be held on Friday at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
