IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth Ann
(Fertal) Bizik
April 8, 1941 – October 16, 2024
Elizabeth Ann (Fertal) Bizik, age 83, went to her heavenly home on October 16, 2024. She is preceded in death by her son, Paul Andrew and is survived by her loving family; husband Joseph, son Joseph Jr (Bo) and daughter-in-law, Kimberly. Elizabeth was born on April 8, 1941, in Searights, PA to parents Joseph Fertal and Elizabeth Shimko Fertal. While growing up Elizabeth enjoyed singing with her sisters, Eileen and Mary Jo. Liska, as she was known, needed a ride home from a sock hop. Joseph became her knight in shining armor and drove her home. When he purchased his first car, a 55 Chevy, Annie, as he called her, said, "If you can afford a car, you can afford to marry me." They were married on September 3, 1960, and celebrated 64 years of marriage this year. They welcomed their son, Joey, in 1962 and settled in Baldwin in southwest PA in 1966. Annie and Joseph later returned to Uniontown in 2007. Elizabeth was employed in retail at Metzer's in Uniontown, GeeBees in Pleasant Hills, Joseph A Hornes in Whitehall, Lazarus in Century III Mall and Macy's in South Hills Village. Elizabeth was a fabulous cook, gardener and an avid reader. Elizabeth decorated her home with her beautiful crafts including painting, ceramics, and needlepoint. Elizabeth enjoyed going on many cruises with her friends and going to Ocean City Maryland with her family. She was a long-time member of the St. Joseph Choir, Christian Mothers, and Polish Heritage Club.
