Edward M. Yanosik Sr., 93 of Masontown, Pa., passed away on Thursday January 14, 2016, at the Madison Center in Morgantown, WV.
He was born on October 4, 1922 in Charleroi, Pa., a son of Paul and Anna (Branny) Yanosik.
Edward was a lifelong member of the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help St. Mary Roman Catholic Church & The former All Saints Roman Catholic Church, lifetime member of Faith-Gray-McArdle VFW Post 4584 & Fort Mason American Legion Post 423. He and his wife owned and operated Yanosik Auto Repair & Service for 31 years. He served his country with the United States Army in World War II, was an avid hunter, fisherman, Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and West Virginia Mountaineer Fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Felicia P. (Capello) Yanosik, his brothers, Paul Yanosik, and Joseph Yanosik.
Edward was the last member of his immediate family.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Edward M. Yanosik Jr., and his wife Ann of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mary Anne Yanosik of Morgantown, West Virginia, Paula Fotta and her husband Steven of Masontown, Pa., grandchildren Edward Yanosik III, Jennifer Yanosik, Stephanie Yanosik, Elizabeth Fotta and Rebekah Fotta.
Friends will be received at the Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 515 N. Main St., Masontown, PA, on Monday January 18, 2016 from 6-9 p.m.; and on Tuesday January 19, 2016 until 9:30 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.
The funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish Roman Catholic Church, 101 S. Washington St., Masontown, with the Rev. William G. Berkey as celebrant.
The family would like to thank the Madison Center for the wonderful care that they provided for Eddie for the past few months.
