Obituary

Edward J. "Ducky" Kodric, 82, of Uniontown, PA, died peacefully, and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 12, 2012. He was born in Uniontown, on October 10, 1929, son of Anthony and Margaret (Lynn) Kodric.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, James, William, Anthony, Donald, and Thomas Kodric; and 2 sisters, Mary Kodric and Annie Kodric.

Edward was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, and the former Holy Name Society. He retired from Maple Creek where he was a Coal Miner for 25 years. He was a member of the UMWA, and Local Union #1248.

During the Korean War, Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army, receiving the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, and United Nations Service Medal. He was a Life Member of the New Salem American Legion Post 753, North Union VFW Post 8543, and Hutchinson Sportsman's Club.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 55 years, Agatha (Kvasnovsky) Kodric; their children, Anthony J. Kodric and wife Mariann, and Mary Louise Yasechko and husband Robert, all of Uniontown, PA, and Anna Marie Dunklee and husband Philip of Canton, MI; 10 grandchildren, Edward Joseph Kodric, Zachary Andrew Kodric, Stephanie Ann (Yasechko) Martin and husband William, Christine Renee Yasechko, Jennifer Nicole Yasechko, Elizabeth Marie Yasechko, Emily Nicole Dunklee, Sarah Renee Dunklee, John Edward Dunklee, and Matthew Philip Dunklee; 2 brothers, Michael Kodric and wife Rose of Uniontown, PA, and Daniel Kodric of Eastlake, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

The family thanks with sincere appreciation and gratitude, the doctors, nurses and caregivers at the Uniontown Hospital and Albert Gallatin (Medisys), for their devotion and compassion during Edward's care.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, this evening (Monday) from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, May 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.; and on Wednesday,

May 16, until 9:30 a.m., when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Mary (Nativity) R.C. Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Stephen R. Bugay as Celebrant.

Interment will be held at St. Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown, PA, where military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 51 and VFW.

The Parish Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
