Mr. Edward S. Discovich, 91, of Uniontown, passed away on Sunday, November 05, 2023 at his residence.
Edward was born in Uniontown on December 31, 1931 to the late Walter and Julia (Kuznair) Discovich.
He married Martha Mesaros on August 24, 1957 in Uniontown.
Edward graduated from South Union High School, and attended California University.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged as Corporal and Bronze Service Medal recipient.
Edward retired from West Penn Power as a draftsman.
He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years, and watching baseball, especially the Pirates. He was an avid fan of all of the Pittsburgh sports teams.
Edward was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, and of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 8543.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Martha Discovich of Uniontown; two daughters, Arlene McCormick of Uniontown, and Lisa Mercadante and husband Michael of Uniontown; four grandchildren, Christine Pocratsky and husband Danny, Katie Clymer and husband Jace, Michael Mercadante, Jr., and Mario Mercadante; four great grandchildren, Poppy and Sage Pocratsky and Amelia and Benjamin Clymer; and a brother, Eugene Discovich of Uniontown.
Edward was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Wantroba and Irene Ewanick.
Visitation will be held at Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401, on Thursday, November 9 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A mass of christian burial will be held on Friday, November 10 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 180 Old Walnut Hill Rd., Uniontown, PA 15401.
Interment will be in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
