Edna Mae (Zebley) Oberleitner, age 84, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., formerly of Hopwood, Pa., died on Saturday June 21, 2014, in the Uniontown Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was born on February 11, 1930 in Daisytown, Pa., daughter of Aaron and Bertha (Bryner) Zebley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph E. Oberleitner, a son Kenneth, her sister Cathy and brothers Jessie and Robert.
Edna was a homemaker and sales clerk at local hardware stores.
She assisted her daughter and son in law in running Kenny's Market & Laundromat, where her famous sauces will live on!!
A member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, she volunteered with the ladies Auxiliary of Hopwood and was a member of St. George Ladies Guild.
She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, taking care of her family, babysitting her great granddaughter and, most of all shopping with her friend Helen Ozanick.
She is survived by two daughters; Beverly Ann George and her husband Eli of Uniontown, Pa., Polly Ozanick and her husband Kenny of Lemont Furnace, Pa., a daughter in-law Trisha Oberleitner of Harriman, Tn., grandchildren K. Ryan Oberleitner of Nashville Tn., Liz George and her husband Parag of Atlanta, Ga., Eli George of Silver Spring Md, April Rishel and her husband Kevin of Gibbon Glade, Pa., Lisa Ozanick of Lemont Furnace, Pa., and the light of her life great grandchild Rhylan Rishel. She loved her Gamo Edna Mae.
She was also survived by her brother Charley, sisters, Elaine, Loretta, Toots, Sharon and sisters in law Marie, Mary Ann , and Claire. Brothers in law Bill, Smitty, Jack and Ray, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. Tuesday June 24, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m., and on Wednesday June 25, 2014 until 9:15 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.
A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, at 10:00 AM, with Msgr. Michael W. Matusak as Celebrant.
The Parish Wake Service will be held Tuesday June 24, 2014 at 3 p.m.
Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA
