Obituary

Dorothy A. "Dot" Shinsky, 93 of Smock, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Cloverdale Personal Care Home, Masontown. She was born on October 2, 1920 in Leckrone, PA, daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Salek) Seginack.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John N. Shinsky in 1997; four brothers, Michael, William, Edward and Robert Seginack; and a sister, Irene Lipchinsky.

Dot was a licensed Beautician and the owner and operator of Dorothy's Beauty Shop in Smock for many years. She was a member of St. Cecilia R.C. Church, Grindstone, member of the former St. Hedwig R.C. Church, Smock, Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and the Rosary Confraternity.

Left to cherish her memory are four children, Dorothy Sherback and husband Patrick of West Virginia; Ann Marie Shinsky of Georgia; John V. Shinsky of Smock, PA; and Robert E. Shinsky and wife Rebecca of Uniontown, PA; seven grandchildren, Joy Robinson and husband Tom, Jill Michaloski and husband Chris, John V. Shinsky, Jr. and wife Desiree, Bobbi Joann McFeely and husband Timothy, Andy Shinsky and wife Ashley, Adam Shinsky, and Ben Shinsky; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann Olenik of Uniontown, PA; two sisters-in-law, Verna Bozak and Millie Shinsky, both of Rowes Run, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Cloverdale Personal Care Home and Amedysis Hospice for their exceptional and compassionate care.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Monday, February 3, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m.; and Tuesday, February 4, until 10 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home with Rev. Father Joseph Armamento Officiating.

Interment will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help St. Mary Cemetery, Leckrone, PA.
