Doris Jean (Thomas) Whiting, 81, of Lemont Furnace, PA, died at her home on Wednesday, February 6, 2012. She was born November 20, 1931 in LaBelle, PA, daughter of the late David and Lena (Ferree) Thomas.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Willard F. Whiting; a grandson, Wesley D. Whiting; and brothers, David, Raymond, Orval, Harry, and Melvin Thomas.

Doris was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Uniontown, where she taught the parish Women's Bible Class for many years

Surviving are, her daughter Maureen E. Whiting Long of Lemont Furnace; son, Willard "Wes" Whiting and wife Deborah of Monarch, PA; a granddaughter, Kristen N. Hausmann and husband Todd of South Carolina; a grandson, Michael W. Whiting; three sisters, Audrey Gribble and husband John of Uniontown, PA, Martha Rice of LaBelle, PA, and Phyllis Seybert and husband Rich of Sharon, PA; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Whiting of Uniontown, PA, and Lillian Wood of Annadale, VA; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m.; Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; and Monday, February 11, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the Hour of Service, with Rev. Tim Rogers Officiating.

Interment will be at La Fayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
