Obituary

In Loving Memory of

Dennis Michael Waligura

September 25, 1942 – April 16, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the loss of

our father, Dennis Michael Waligura, who passed away

unexpectedly on April 16, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on

September 25, 1942, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Dennis was

preceded in death by his parents, John R. Waligura Sr. and Helen

(Fecek) Waligura, and by his brother, John R. Waligura Jr.

He is survived by his three children: Michael Waligura; Ashley

Nichols (Joe); and Jill Diemar. He also leaves behind seven

cherished grandchildren: Adam, Jenna, Amy, Madelyn, Claire,

Irelyn and Brooks.

Denny attended Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a

degree in engineering. He went on to build a distinguished career

spanning more than four decades with the Department of

Defense/ Defense Mapping Agency. He had an extraordinary

ability to design, build, or repair just about anything. Whether

solving a complex engineering problem or tackling an everyday

challenge, he approached everything with quiet confidence,

patience, and remarkable skill.

If you were fortunate enough to truly know Denny, you

experienced the witty intelligence and humor that could easily be

overlooked beneath his humble and stoic nature. He loved his

family deeply and was immensely proud of his children and

grandchildren. His greatest legacy lives on in the values he

instilled in his family: integrity, humility, perseverance, quiet

strength, and a generous willingness to help others. He will be

deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the

hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A private graveside service will be held, and he will be laid to rest

at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cemetery in

Pennsylvania.

“…to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your

God.”
