Obituary

David E. Volchko, 67, of Masontown, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 in Waynesburg Hospital. He was born November 18, 1949, in Uniontown, a son of the late John and Ann (Sidor) Volchko.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Christina "Tina" Kessler; and his infant nephew, Keith Daniel Kessler.

Dave was a graduate of the old Kolb Memorial High School, Class of 1968, and received his Associate Degree from California University of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the former All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Masontown. Dave was also member of the Masontown Knights of Colombus, PALS Club, Italian Club, and Fish and Game Club. He worked for WTAE-TV, and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in 2011.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, John Volchko and his wife Marlene, of Carmichaels, PA, and Daniel Volchko, of Masontown, PA; brother-in-law, Dale Kessler of McClellandtown, PA; nieces, Julie Volchko of Germany, and Randi Chapman and her husband Michael, of Charlottesville, VA; and many cousins and friends.

Friends will be received in the Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 515 North Main St. Masontown, PA, from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, and Wednesday, March 8, until 11 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held with Rev. Father John Bauer Officiating.

In accordance with Dave's wishes donations are asked to be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231, the American Cancer Association, 4 N. Beeson Blvd, Uniontown, PA 15401, the Masontown Sr. Center, or a charity of choice.

The Family would like to extend special thanks to the Doctors and staff of Ruby Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg Hospital (Washington Health System Green), and also to the staff of Rolling Meadows Nursing Home for their excellent care and compassion.
