Daniel J. "Bo" Hanzely, 67, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at UPMC Montifiore Hospital.
He was born on March 20, 1947 in Uniontown, son of Paul Donald Hanzely, Jr. and Teresa (Orgovan) Hanzely, who both preceded him in death.
Daniel was a graduate of St. John's High School class of 1965. He was also a Vietnam War Veteran with the US Army. Daniel was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Uniontown. He was also a member of General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post 51 and the Perryopolis Sokol Club.
Daniel retired from M & K Construction Company in Monongahela, PA. Following retirement, he loved spending time with his family, friends and neighbors. He was always there to lend a helping hand. His hobbies included landscaping, traveling and cooking. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 37 years, Regina E. (Riggin) Hanzely; two daughters, Danielle J. Hanzely and fianc Paul Howell of Uniontown, PA; and Amanda N. Guthrie and husband Herb of Dunbar Township, PA; a granddaughter, Abigail P. Guthrie; a sister, Diana Cummings and husband Joe of Uniontown, PA; a brother, Paul "Hank" Hanzely and wife Harriet of Eighty-Four, PA; and many loving nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his special dog, "Bella."
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Sunday, February 1, from 2 - 9 p.m; and on Monday, February 2, until 10:15 a.m.
The Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 121 Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, PA on Monday, February 2, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jim Engel Officiating. Military honors will be accorded by AMVETS Post 103.
