The sound of musical instruments and the beat of the old Army drum drew a young boy into a Salvation Army building and captured his heart and interest for life. Clifford Raymond Hall became a Salvation Army Soldier of the Uniontown, Pa Corps and ultimately a Salvation Army Officer.

Born in Perryopolis, Pa on June 8, 1930 to the late Clifford Hall, Sr. and Theresa B. (Linderman) Hall/Little he resided in Uniontown, graduated from South Union High School, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, married his childhood sweetheart, Charlotte L. (Dawson) Hall and hearing God's call to Salvation Army Officership, he readily answered it. Trained and ordained at the Salvation Army School for Officers in Bronx , N.Y. he along with his wife was appointed as Corps Commanding Officers (Pastors) to several areas of service among them Syracuse, N.Y., Buffalo, N.Y., Dunkirk, N.Y., New Bedford, Ma., and Springfield, Ma. Appointments to Divisional Headquarters followed as General Secretary to Eastern, Pa. Division (Philadelphia) and Greater New York Division (New York City). Appointed as Divisional Commander he was transferred to Northern New England (Me, N.H., and Vt.) with headquarters in Portland, Me. While in Philadelphia he was selected as a delegate to the International College for Officers in London, England for an in depth study of the International Aspect of the Salvation Army. Change of work came and promotion to Lt. Colonel with his appointment to Territorial Headquarters as the secretary for Supplies and Purchasing Dept. for the Eastern Territory comprised of the eleven Eastern States and Puerto Rico. Before retirement he returned to Philadelphia as Divisional Commander for the Eastern Pa Division. His last appointment and transfer was back to Territorial Headquarters as Assistant Chief Secretary for the Eastern Territory from which he entered honorable retirement having given over forty two years of active service as a Salvation Army Officer.

Surviving is his wife of sixty years Charlotte (Dawson) Hall, daughter Theresa J. (Hall) Childs of Cincinnati, Ohio, sons Clifford R. Hall, Jr. of Hampton, Va., David W. Hall of Guilford, Vt. and Robert K. Hall (wife Rose) of Shrewsbury, Mo., 11 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Leonard E. Hall and a sister Era (Hall) Martin/Corteal. Surviving members of his family are Barbara (Hall) Misner, Beverly (Hall) Means, Linda (Hall) and Clayton Whipkey, Sharon (Little) Lincoln, Norma (Little) and Charles Dillow, William Little and Debbie, Curtis Little and Sharon and Thomas Little and Bonnie, several nieces and nephews.

Colonel Hall's final appointment came March 12, 2014 when he was "Promoted to Glory" and heard his Lord's "well done good and faithful servant enter into the joy of your Lord".

The Family will receive friends at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Saturday, March 15, 2013 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Captain David J. Childs, The Salvation Army, Officiating.

Private entombment was held at Green Ridge Memorial Park, Chimes Tower, Connellsville, PA.
