IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles
Kasinec
January 10, 1937 – February 1, 2026
Charles "Chuck" Kasinec, of Northville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, at Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital. He was 89 years old.
Born on January 10, 1937, in Masontown, Pennsylvania, to the late Frank and Sophie Kasinec, Chuck lived a life defined by service, creativity, kindness, and devotion to family.
Chuck was a proud graduate of Masontown High School, Class of 1954. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy before continuing his education. He earned his bachelor's degree from California State College in Pennsylvania and later completed his master's degree at West Virginia University, preparing him for a lifelong career in education.
A passionate educator and respected administrator, Chuck dedicated decades to shaping young minds. He served for many years at Rising Sun High School in Maryland and spent over 35 years with Cecil County Public Schools in Elkton, Maryland, where he worked as both a teacher and principal at the junior and senior high school levels. His leadership, integrity, and genuine care for students and colleagues left a lasting impact on the communities he served.
Following his retirement, Chuck and his beloved wife, Rosalie, relocated to Michigan in 2002, making their home in a beautiful condominium in Northville. Together, they embraced retirement with joy and adventure. Chuck loved traveling with Rosalie, especially to Hawaii and Alaska, as well as visiting many of the 48 continental states. They also cherished attending the Traverse City Film Festival and enjoyed taking cruises together.
Chuck was a talented artist and craftsman who found great pleasure in wood carving—particularly creating ducks and birds—as well as drawing and painting. He was also an avid golfer and proudly celebrated achieving three holes-in-one during his lifetime.
Above all, Chuck will be remembered for his gentle spirit, kindness to others, and deep devotion to family. He was a loving husband and uncle who took wonderful care of Rosalie and worked hard to build a warm and fulfilling life together. His legacy of compassion, creativity, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 65 years, Rosalie; sisters, Ann (the late William) Yarish and Betty (the late Joseph) Wolfe; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Mary Swift, Margaret Lenz, Martha Mudry, Michael Kasinec and George Kasinec.
Visitation will be at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401, on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 12 PM, with a blessing service to follow at 1 PM.
Chuck's interment at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA, will be preceded by a chapel ceremony and Naval Funeral Honors.
