Obituary

Charles Lewis Swenglish, age 83, of Smithfield, PA, passed away, on Friday, November 15, 2013, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 3, 1930 in Uniontown, PA, son of the late Paul Swenglish Sr. and Mary (Pepson) Swenglish.

"Charley" or "Pap", as he was known by his family and friends, was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown. Charley was president and founder of Charles L. Swenglish & Son's coal company, Swenglish & Son's Scrap Iron and Metal, and Swenglish & Son's Construction, Inc.

Charley was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Mike, John, Lawrence, and Andy; and nine sisters, Jane, Mary, Agnes, Pauline, Irma, Frances, Ann, Clara, and a twin sister Eleanor.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Catherine (Smith) Swenglish; his children, Chuck C. Swenglish and his wife Marian, Carl R. Swenglish and his wife Darla, and Curt R. Swenglish and his wife Cindy; five grandchildren, Courtney Ann, Clay Lewis, Ethan Gregory, Tyler Charles and Crista Louise; and a brother Paul Swenglish Jr. and his wife Carol.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Monday, November 18, 2013 until 9:15AM when Prayers of transfer will be said.

A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, at 10:00AM, with Msgr. Michael W. Matusak as Celebrant.

A Parish Wake Service will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013 in the Funeral Home at 3:00PM

Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
