Charles A. "Bud" Hunt, 85, of Uniontown, PA, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, VA. He was born on September 4, 1928 in Washington, DC, son of the late Charles and Edythe (Hofferberth) Hunt.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty Marie (Cuppett) Hunt on December 17, 2003, and recently his dear sister Ellamae H. Clare.
Charles proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Navy. He was active in local politics, and was a Red Cross Volunteer and regular blood donor. He was employed with Donald Miller Roofing for many years, and also worked for the City of Uniontown Water and Sewage Dept. Charles was also an avid fisherman. He is remembered, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends for his kindness and wonderful sense of humor.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Barry N. Hunt and wife Susan of Westminster, MD, Patricia K. McKee of Annapolis, MD, and Richard L. Hunt of Westminster, MD, seven grandchildren, Christine Kennedy and husband John, Jennifer Tittle and husband Brian, Kristin Hunt, Richard Hunt II, Jaime Hunt, Clint McKee V, and Amy Beecher, nine great grandchildren, and three very dear nieces and their families.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Sunday, February 23, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., the Hour of Service, with Rev. Lillian Sparks Officiating. Military honors will follow at the funeral home chapel, accorded by George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103.
Entombment will be privately held on Monday, February 24, at 10 a.m. at Sylvan Heights Chapel of Memories Mausoleum.
