Obituary

Cecelia A. Doolittle Harmon, age 98 of Uniontown, Pa, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Lafayette Manor. She was born in Hiller, Pa., daughter of the late John and Veronica (Kovalcik) Vetter.

In addition to her parents, Cecelia was preceded in death by her first husband Lawrence V. Doolittle, Sr., second husband, Edward Harmon; her son, Lawrence V. Doolittle, Jr., five sisters, Mary Willard, Kathryn Durigan, Helen Hanula, Eleanor Kreuter, Dorothy Miller; and a brother Frank Vetter.

Cecelia was a devoted member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, Confraternity of Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters Court #505, Golden Age Club, Catholic Business and Professional Women, and the Circle Club. She also volunteered at St. Mary's School Cafeteria for many years.

She was proud of the fact that she was the first woman hired by Rockwell International Manufacturing in Uniontown, as well as having served as President of their Union. She retired following 33 years of working for the company.

Bowling was her passion, and she enjoyed traveling to competitions with her league. She was an ardent sports fan, never missing games played by her beloved Pittsburgh teams, the Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Patricia Milroth of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Mark Milroth, Matthew Milroth, Kristen Milroth, and Alison Duffield and husband Jerry; 3 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Vera Dando of Pittsburgh, Pa., Christine Pitek of Brownsville, Pa, and Evelyn Mohney of Uniontown, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews and their families. Her family would like to thank the Jodon family, whom Cecelia considered her own, and a blessing. She will be deeply missed by all.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. on Monday, January 21, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Prayers of Transfer will be held on Tuesday January 22, at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, Pa.

Interment will be held at Mount Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.

The Parish Wake Service led by the Lazarus Ministry will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, followed by the Catholic Daughters of America Rosary at 6 p.m.
