Mr. Carmen A. Polito, Sr., 96, of Uniontown, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at his residence.

He was born in Oliver on August 12, 1928, to the late Michael and Mariam Carmela "Nellie" (Coville) Polito.

Carmen was a veteran of the United States Army.

He married Elizabeth "Betty" Duckworth on July 22, 1963, at St. Mary (Nativity) Church.

Carmen retired from Stroehmann Bread Company after twenty-five years and was previously a part owner of Laurel Lanes Bowling Alley, where he and Betty met, and he enjoyed tending bar at Polito's Tavern.

He was a member of St. Therese Church.

Carmen belonged to the AMVETS Post 47, American Legion Post 51, lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Valley and Hutchinson Sportsman Clubs.

He enjoyed gardening and planted a huge garden every year.  Carmen enjoyed having friends and family over to his bar in his basement.

Carmen is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Betty Polito; five children, Debbie Griglack and husband Jeff, Denise Grena and husband Michael, Carmen A. Polito, Jr. and wife Sherri, Rick Polito and wife Missy, and Lisa Baily; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; four brothers, Bill Polito and wife Dolores, Frank Polito and wife Ella, Patsy Polito, and Rich Polito and wife Louis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Pete, Joe, Jim, Dom, Zeke, and Ed Polito.

Visitation for Carmen will be held at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401 on Thursday, June 19th from 11 AM to 2 PM, at which time a blessing service will be held at the funeral home.

Interment is in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
