Billie Jo (Duckworth) Murphy, 62, of West Leisenring, Pa., passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Uniontown Hospital. She was born in Connellsville, Pa., daughter of the late William W. W. Duckworth and Betty June (Smitley) Duckworth.

In addition to her parents, Billie Jo was recently preceded in death by her husband Ira Murphy, Jr., also a sister Sharon in infancy, and a brother-in-law, Rod Eberhart.

Billie Jo was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Vanderbilt, Pa. She was a graduate of Laurel Highlands High School Class of 1974, where she was on the basketball team.  Following high school, she received her license in Cosmetology.

She had a passion for playing Bingo, and loved her lilac bushes. She is remembered by her family as a loving and devoted grandmother, who lived for her kids.

Surviving are her children, Todd A. Murphy and wife Tiffany of Connellsville, Pa, and Brandy Murphy Basinger and husband Jimmy of West Leisenring, Pa; nine grandchildren, Ryan Murphy, twins Hope and Faith Murphy, Alyssa Murphy, Paris Murphy, Jimmy Basinger, III., Cayden Basinger, Bentley Basinger, and Aniyah Basinger; two sisters, Lorraine DeMercurio and husband Nephi, Beverly J. Eberhart, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext.,Uniontown, Pa. on Thursday, January 31, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., when the Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel, with Nephi DeMercurio officiating.

Private interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
