Betty Jane Barkley Piper, age 88, of Bruceton Mills, WV., passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born in West Moreland County, PA., on July 1, 1924, daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (French) Wingrove.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Piper; two brothers; and one sister.



Left to cherish her memory are her children, Barbara Shallcross and husband Philip, Faye Cottle and husband William John, Jr., Sandra Stoken and husband Robert, Sherry Eicher, Jerry Barkley and wife Grace, and Wendy Smith and husband James; seventeen grandchildren, Vic Teets, J.R. Teets, Alan Teets, Jenny Hill, William John Cottle III, Pam Williams, Mike Webb, Debbie Holland, Robert Stoken II, Christine Stoken, Joey Stoken, Michelle Hawksworth, Monica Eicher, Bill Eicher, Jerry Barkley, Julie Knapp, and Melissa Arch; twenty seven great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Earl Wingrove, Donald Wingrove, and Raymond Wingrove.

Betty was a wonderful homemaker for her family and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Monday, September 10, 2012 from 2-8PM and on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 until 11:00AM the hour of service with Pastor Danny Gates officiating

Entombment will be private.
