Betty Ruth (Junk) Emerick, 90, of Uniontown, Pa., died peacefully at home on Friday, December 21, 2018 with her family at her side. She was born on July 23, 1928 in Uniontown, daughter of the late Robert Fulton Junk and Maria (Marshall) Junk.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Alton Emerick in 2014, sisters, Effie Junk, Della Hunt, Virginia Rhodes, Janet Sedlock, and a brother, C.J. Junk.

Betty was a member of Community United Methodist Church, and United Methodist Women. Following her graduation from Uniontown School of Nursing, she served her country as a Registered Nurse with the United States Army, in San Antonio, Tx. at the rank of 1 ^st Lieutenant.

Betty retired as a Registered Nurse with Uniontown Hospital. She is remembered by her family and friends as a godly, angel on earth, a kind and wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael Robert Emerick and wife Michele, with whom she made her home, and Cpt. Thomas M.  Emerick, US Coast Guard, Retired and wife Melissa of Norfolk, Va.; two cherished  grandchildren, Megan and Jude Emerick; and six "grandpuppies".

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the Hour of Service with Joyce Brant officiating. Military honors will follow in the funeral home chapel accorded by George C. Marshall Amvets Post 103.

Private interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
