Betty J. (Ponick) Aiello, 84 of Masontown, PA, passed away peacefully with her daughter, and nieces and nephews near her side on Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Uniontown Hospital. She was born on March 6, 1930 in Alicia, PA, daughter of the late George and Anna (Poland) Ponick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Tudy" Aiello (1992), their son, Joseph F. Aiello (1998), and brothers, George Ponick, Jr., and Richard Ponick. Her dog "Fredo", constant companion and best friend, had also passed before her.

Betty was a faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish of Masontown, member of the church Choir, Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and dedicated volunteer for many fund raising events and pierogi sales for her parish. She was also a member of the Italo-American Citizens Club Auxiliary, and former Band Mother Albert Gallatin School.

She and her husband "Tudy" owned and operated the Trocadero Lounge for 30 years. She adored her patrons, and formed many long standing friendships and cherished memories. An avid "Steeler" fan, she also loved music, especially the Glenn Miller Band. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her kindness and charity to others less fortunate was extraordinary. Her strength, compassion, and grace will always be remembered by those who loved her.

Surviving are, her loving daughter Diane Jones and husband Phillip of Hopwood, with whom she recently made her home; her grandsons, Samuel Justin Franks and fianc Dawn of Pittsburgh, PA; and Joshua Cody Jones and wife Erica of Uniontown, PA; three great grandchildren, Peyton, Alina, and Scarlett; two sisters, Louise Savini and husband Phil of Uniontown, PA, and Rosemary "Tootsie" Capitoni of Masontown, PA; sisters-in-law, Dominica "Minnie" Mojock and husband Anthony "Dunn", and Edith Aello, all of Masontown, PA, Miggie Aiello of Cleveland, OH; and many beloved nieces and nephews, and their families.

Friends will be received at the Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 515 N. Main St., Masontown, PA on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; and Tuesday morning until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 101 S. Washington St. Masontown, PA, with Rev. Father William G. Berkey as Celebrant.

Entombment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Chapel of Memories Mausoleum.

The Confraternity of Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary on Monday at 7 p.m.
