Obituary

Bertha Francine Nesser, 43, of Scottdale, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her loving family and boyfriend. She was born on December 19, 1970 in Uniontown, PA, daughter of James J. "Lash" Nesser, Jr. and Martha Ann (Nassif) Nesser, who preceded her in death.

Bertha earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from St. Vincent College, Latrobe, and was currently pursuing a Master's degree in Education from California University of PA. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale, and supported many charities.

Left to cherish her memory are her brothers and sisters, Kathie Pasquarella and husband Tony of Steubenville, OH, James J. Nesser, III. and girlfriend Staci Mancini, and Joseph M. Nesser and fiance Lisa Cunningham, all of Uniontown, PA, Marta Lynne Barlow and husband Tom of Kingwood, WV, Vince E. Nesser, Steve Nesser and wife Bonnie, Ellie Nesser and Elisa Nesser, all of Uniontown, PA, Marianna Miller and husband Randy of Morgantown, WV, Paula Rossetti and husband Chris of Raleigh, NC; her boyfriend, Michael D. Flood of Scottdale, PA; dear nieces and nephews, Natalie Pasquarella and fiance Jamin Pastore, Valerie and Joseph Koerschner, Joseph Pasquarella and fiance Christine Seif, Nick Pasquarella, Matthew Nesser, Stefanie and Frank Ambrose, Corey Nesser, Nathan Nesser, Hillary Barlow, Brigitte Barlow, Thomas Barlow, Justin Miller, (god daughter) Kristin Miller, Laurin Miller, (god son) Dominic Rossetti, Mia Rossetti, Ashley Nesser; and her great niece, Gabriella Koerschner.

She also leaves behind her dogs, Harvey and Rooney.

Bertha, affectionately known as "Berthie" by her family, and "Bea" by her many, many, dear friends will be deeply missed; especially by the great customers at Ruby Tuesday's, Goodfellas Club, and Harry's Bar. She will also be missed by the students and teachers at Bloomfield Garfield Corp.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Sunday, May 25 from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.; and on Monday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., when closing prayers will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale, PA, with Rev. Father Andrew M. Kawecki as Celebrant. Interment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA. The Parish Wake Service will be held on Sunday at 6:45 p.m., followed by the Service of Ghinnaz at 7:00 p.m.
