Bernardine Kovalchick Yespak, 73 of Uniontown, PA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 16, 2013.

Born on February 18, 1940 in Uniontown, PA., Bernardine was the daughter of John C. and Helen (Sowinski) Kovalchick. Bernardine was a member of St. George Maronite Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Rosary Society.

Bernardine was retired from Gallet Knitting Mills. She had a strong devotion to her Catholic Faith and to the Blessed Mother. She served as Pastoral Minister at St. Joseph's RC Church, a Christian Mother, a Secular Franciscian Order with St. Anthony's Friary. She organized the First Rosary Walk; taught many people how to make rosaries, guided many in their journey to becoming Catholic. She served as Eucharistic Minister and visited the homebound parishioners. Several years ago she resigned from her duties as Pastoral Minister to become caregiver of her brother, Francis. Bernardine loved spending time with her family and her blessings in life were the two precious children who called her grandma.

She was predeceased in death by her parents, her beloved husband William Elias Yespak, her brothers John S. Kovalchick, Raymond Kovalchick and Francis D. Kovalchick.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters and sons-in law Helen Elizabeth and Robert Lowden, Dianna and Shawn Suter, grandchildren Cody William Lowden and Hailey Marie Lowden, sister Josephine A. Kovalchick, sister-in-law Josephine B. Kovalchick, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext, Uniontown, PA., on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9PM and again on Monday, April 22, 2013 until 9:30AM.

The Divine Liturgy will be held at St. George Maronite Catholic Church at 10:00AM on Monday, April 22, 2013, with Fr. Nadim Helou as Celebrant.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

The Service of Ghinnaz will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 2:30PM, followed by The Parish Rosary Service in the funeral home chapel.
