Bernard Talaga, 99, of Uniontown, PA, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Uniontown Hospital.

He was born on May 10, 1914 in Uniontown, son of the late Albert Vincent Talaga and Teresia (Koniscana) Talaga.

In addition to his parents, Bernard was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Anna Marie (Chmiel) Talaga, their son, Anthony Talaga, brothers, John and Frank, and sisters, Rose, Josephine, Felicia, and Eleanor.

Bernard was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. He retired from Berkowitz Garment Factory after over 40 years as the Maintenace Foreman. He was an avid golfer and loved carpentry and building.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Vivian Fixel of Pittsburgh, PA; Ronald Talaga, M.D. and wife Sally of Honesdale, PA; two grandchildren, Laura Talaga of Honesdale, PA, and Paul Talaga and wife Emily of Cincinnati, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA., on Thursday, August 22, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; and on Friday, August 23, until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 50 Jefferson St., Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father James D. Tringhese as Celebrant.

Interment will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hopwood, PA.
