Benjamin H. Campbell, age 82, of Phillips, Uniontown, PA, died on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the Uniontown Hospital. He was born on April 21, 1928 in High House, PA.
He was preceded in death by his wife Luevern Campbell; his grandmother Mary Campbell who raised him; his mother Evelyn Hornsby; and his brother Walter Campbell.
Benjamin retired from Steel Scaffolding Company where he worked for over 30 years. He proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Army, and was a member of the North Union Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8543.
He had been a faithful member of the former Abundant Life Church which was located in Phillips. He was very proud to have been an usher and parishioner there for many years.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Carol Collins and husband James, James Campbell and wife Joyce, Robert Campbell, William Campbell, Sharon Blaker Campbell, Douglas Campbell, Jack Campbell and wife Pam, and Glen Campbell and wife Timma; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and brothers, William Campbell, and Robert Hornsby.
He is also survived by his very special friend Bobbie Denny.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Saturday, April 16, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m, the Hour of Service.
Military honors will accorded by AMVETS Post 103.
Private interment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
