Barbara Ann Wyda, 71 of Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of Uniontown, died peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Harbour Senior Living, Pittsburgh. She was born on August 6, 1949 in Uniontown, daughter of the late Frank Wyda, Jr. and Anna R. (Sintich) Wyda.
Barbara was a graduate of South Union High School and member of the National Honor Society. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Uniontown. Before her retirement she worked as a Purchasing Agent for Personalized Distribution Systems. Prior to that, had been employed locally with Romeo's and Uniontown Hospital.
Surviving are five sisters and a brothers, Rosemary Bollinger and husband Rick, Anna Margaret Wyda, Kathryn E. Wyda, Janet Marie Szczerbienski and husband Mark, Carolyn Darges and husband Rick, Frank J. "Frankie" Wyda and wife Frankie; three nephews, Frank J. Mrazeck and wife Zoe, Joshua Darges, and Joseph "Joey" Darges; and two great nieces, Cassandra Mrazeck, and Natasha Mrazeck.
The immediate family will hold vigil at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA on Thursday, December 17, from 9 a.m. until 10:15 am, when Panachida prayers will be said. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 185 East Main St., Uniontown, PA, with the Very Reverend Father Ronald P. Larko as celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. John Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that contributions be made to your local Food Bank or favorite charity.
