Barbara Frances (Minnick) Sekura, 91, of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016, with loving family by her side. She was born December 27, 1924, in Bute/West Leisenring, PA, the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Wardzella) Minnick.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband, Peter Sekura, 79, in 1995; daughter, Diane Sekura, 48, in 2000; and brothers, Andrew and Joseph Minnick.
Barbara was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Uniontown, PA. She graduated from the old Dunbar Township High School, Class of 1942 and worked for the Bell Telephone Company as an operator for 10 years in MI, PA and OH.
Surviving are her children, Linda Sekura of Maple Heights, OH, Terence Sekura (Saida) of Uniontown, PA, and Andrew Sekura (Devi Omattie) of North Royalton, OH; grandchildren, Alexandra Sekura, Brandon Sekura, and Shaun Sekura; her brother, Bernard Minnick; sister, Mary Lou (Minnick) Winkelbauer; and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a lovely woman, and a good woman. She was loved by her family, and will be greatly missed.
Barbara requested a private service with family members only. Visitation will be held at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Friday, July 1, 9 -10 a.m. The Panachida Service will be held at 10 a.m.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 185 E. Main St., Uniontown, PA, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Father Ronald P. Larko as Celebrant.
Interment will be held in Mt. Saint Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
