Barbara J. Rabatin, 59, of Mt. Pleasant, PA, died Thursday, February 6, 2014 in Excela Frick Hospital after a brave fight with pancreatic cancer. Affectionately known to her family as "Bubs" and "Bubba", she was born June 15, 1954 in Uniontown, PA, to the late George and Jean Rabatin.
Surviving her is her son, the light of her life and Greatest Honor, Jedidiah Rabatin Proud of Milwaukee, WI; as well as her siblings, Rab (Marcia), Rosemarie Leasure (Paul), Ruth Shannon (Bob), Lance, Maggie, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a special friend of Bill W.
In August 2007 Barbara graduated with a perfect attendance award from Geneva College, Beaver Falls, PA, and with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources. She learned sign language at WCC and volunteered this skill to needs in her community. She was employed at Hauser Insurance Agency and Valley Community Services of Mt. Pleasant.
She was a youth director and praise service member at United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant.
A memorial service will be held by Pastor Randy Landman on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 645 West Main St., Mt. Pleasant, PA 15666.
