Anthony F. "Tony" Fell's Obituary
Anthony F. "Tony" Fell, Jr., 91, of Masontown, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 28, 1924 in Masontown, a son of Anthony and Theresa Rose (Bartley) Fell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife of 62 years Geraldine Louise (Cole) Fell, brothers, John Fell in infancy, Michael Fell, and sisters, Louise Mason, Clara Pleban, Anna Mary Kibart, Frances Rush, and Genovive Bobish.
Tony was a retired coal miner and member of UMWA. He proudly served his country with the United States Army during WWII at the rank of Sergeant, and was a member of Fort Mason American Legion Post 423 and Faith-Gray-McArdle VFW Post 4584.
Tony was a devoted husband and loving father whose greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He faithfully served God and shared his faith as a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Carmichaels.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jennie Helmantoler, Anthony F. "Tony" Fell, III. and companion Kim Minor, Barbara Hennessey and husband Rev. Daniel Hennessey, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Nancy Fell; grandchildren, William Speelman and wife Terri, Daniel Speelman and wife Jennifer, Michael Speelman and companion Chris Lawson, Angela Marie Fell Barner and husband Joseph, and Aimee Shepherd, Doug Ealy and wife Susan, Shawn Patrick Hennessey and wife Beverly, and Daniel Hennessey, Jr. and wife Beth; 23 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Friends will be received at the Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 515 N. Main St., Masontown, PA, today, September 2, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., and on Thursday, September 3, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., the Hour of Service with his son-in-law Rev. Daniel Hennessey, Sr. officiating.
Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA, where military services will be accorded.
In his memory, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
