Anna Louise Shiner, age 69, of Uniontown, PA, was called to be with God, on Monday March 12, 2012, with her loving husband and family by her side.

She was born on June 10, 1942 in Uniontown, Pa., a daughter of the late Stephen and Ann (Legarth) Wilkovich.

She was a member of St. Mary's (Nativity) Catholic Church, where she enjoyed daily mass and enjoyed visiting churches throughout the country, Anna was a graduate of the Uniontown Hospital school of nursing and took great pride in sharing her compassionate nature with others.

Anna accomplished more in sixty-nine years than most can hope to achieve in two lifetimes, while society was busy measuring accomplishments in dollars and cents, Anna dedicated her blessed life on this earth to building a wealth of knowledge and love. After her heart and mind were full, she embarked on her life's journey of sharing her gifts. Along the way, she managed to marry and have four children, blessing each one with a heart full of hope and wonder; over three decades Anna built an impressive career as a registered nurse where her selfless and deeply compassionate care comforted patients in their most difficult times. What made Anna so special is indefinable in mere words, but one flash of her radiant smile informed those around her that the woman before them was full of faith and forever grateful for the gifts provided by God.

Despite her professional accomplishments, Anna took the most pride in being a mother to the children that her love created. Anna felt so blessed knowing that the love she instilled in the hearts of her four children resonated deep within them and caused them all to eventually find a partner to share the world with, on each of her children's wedding days, her bright blue eyes illuminates with joy as she came to the realization that she had taught them the secret she knew her whole life: Love is the great equalizer, Anna learned from a young age that money was not the key to gaining fortune, she saw the broken dreams money can bring about and instead chose to leave a lasting legacy of love that continues to grow in the hearts of all those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A deeply spiritual and caring individual, she will never be forgotten as her memories will be carried on by all those that survive her.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 45 years Stanley Raymond Shiner, Jr., children; Kathryn Mihalko and husband David, Karen McDaniel, and husband Scott, who selflessly made her last months most comfortable; Stanley R Shiner III and his wife Carrie, Stephen Shiner and wife Darcy, her grandchildren in whom she took great pride and always loved to attend their school and sporting events, David Mihalko Jr., Timothy Mihalko and Rebecca Mihalko, she is also survived by her loving sisters Sue Sickles, Diane Decker and brothers Steve Wilkovich, Dan Wilkovich and a brother-in-law Anthony Shiner, Sister-in-law Stella Evans and husband John, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and an extended family of in-laws.

She is already missed by her furry bedside companions Rusty and Gracie and numerous loving grand dogs.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. Wednesday March 14, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., and on Thursday March 15, 2012 until 9:30 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Stephen R. Bugay as Celebrant.

A Parish Wake Service will be held Wednesday at 3:30 PM.

Interment will follow in St Mary Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
