Obituary

Anna Marie (Paroda) Riba, age 95, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2015, at home with her loving granddaughter, Stefanie, at her side.

She was born on November 22, 1919 in Uniontown, PA, the oldest child of the late Paul and Julia (Oberleitner) Paroda and the last member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven J. Riba; infant daughter, Rita; brothers and sisters - Pauline Wdzieczmy, Carl Paroda, Theresa Sablak, Paul Paroda, Carol Franks, Franklin Paroda and Donald Paroda; daughter-in-law, Ruth Riba; and great-great granddaughter, Harley Jean Kessler.

Anna Marie was a loving and kind person who touched many people's lives. Following the death of her father, she took in her brother, Paul, and sister, Carol, and raised them. She was a member of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church; Saint Joseph's Christian Mothers; Happy Helen's Club; and Oliver's Club. Having worked at various jobs throughout her life, she always considered her greatest role that of wife, mother and grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Stephen P. Riba and wife Deborah; daughter, Theresa Amon and husband David; grandchildren: Stefanie Stramat, who has been her care giver for the past 21 years, and husband James, their children, Tiffanie Kessler and husband Paul, Reba Stramat and Zachary Stramat; Stephen E. Riba and wife Judith, their son, Stephen T. Riba; Edward Amon and wife Tracy, their children, Samantha Rodriquez and husband Guzman, Edward Amon and Jacob Amon; Michael Riba and wife April, their daughter, Hayley Riba; Delores Huang and husband Ken, their daughters, Kiersten Huang and Kendra Huang; David Amon and wife Shandra, their daughter, Anastasia; sisters-in-law, Ada Amadola, Tillie Paroda, Pat Paroda and Ester Paroda and their families; and many friends who lovingly call her "Grandma".

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, PA on Tuesday May 12, 2015 from 1-9 p.m. and on Wednesday May 13, 2015 until 9:15a.m., when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Ronald L. Simboli as Celebrant.

Interment will be held in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
